pH Detector
About the Machine
The new pH Detector is an ATV-mounted pH mapping system capable of intensely mapping several hundred acres per day. The operator lowers a probe chamber into the soil with an easy-push mechanism. As the handle is lowered, a durable metalloid pH electrode is inserted into the chamber, contacting the soil at the bottom of the cavity. pH measurement is completed in 7-10 seconds. Geo-referenced data logging and pH electrode cleaning are all automatic.
About the Maps
Grid samplers can shrink their grid size for pH significantly, yet maintain top capacity. Zone samplers can collect a geo-referenced pH reading wherever they pull a core for the zone composite sample. Readings from pH Detector and lab-analyzed samples taken from same location are highly correlated.
